Falls on its face in 3rd

Postby RSWORDS » Mon Feb 23, 2009 7:26 am

My truck pulls real hard in 1st and 2nd... 3rd gear is weak. Was before the new tranny and after. I know my fuel pressure is 0 as soon as I take off think it is just running teh fuel dry? I have plenty of smoke but IF I was pulling air I guess it would screw up the dilevery... right? If I ease on the throttle it pulls hard until wide open then feels like it looses power.

you definately need a new lift pump, that IP aint gonna last long pulling its own fuel.

Why would you expect your truck to run with no fuel pressure?? That is like saying it rides like crap with no air in the tires. You always have to fix and maintain the basics if you want any kind of performance or reliability.

Yup, sounds like it's starving to me! It will smoke more with bad fuel pressure, because you don't get a good pop and complete burn.

Throw a good LP on there and let us know how it does then. ;)

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.
