Find yourself a mostly leak free 1st gen intercooler and it should treat you fine as long as you have a VE pump, IMO. Then the next step would be a set of Scheid or kta 6x16's, then kta 14mm h&r, getrag, clutch, and the list goes on and on.

You only have to cut up your grill if you try to install a 3" cored IC like a Ford PS IC. The air to water cooler will help, but I'd go with the IC myself, btdt.
RSWORDS wrote:A stock 1st gen inter cooler will fit behind a 89 grill? I thought you had to cut alot of it off.
bgilbert wrote:Sure will. Matt's 90 and my 89 both have 1st gen intercoolers that fit like they came from the factory. It's just when you don't know what you're doing you gut your grill, right ptb?
. One of these day I'll take some pics of it. My plan is to replace the leaking one I have with a leak free one if I ever find one. Then I'll snap some pics.

Are the fenders and the hood the same between teh two years?
bgilbert wrote:Fenders and hood are the same. But why would you want that hideous 91-93 grill over the best looking grill Dodge ever put out, the 86-90 grill???
