timing and junk :)

Postby Oddfire » Sat May 30, 2009 10:10 pm

I turned my star wheel back and advanced my timing to a skiff over an 1/8th tonight. About the same, but maby a little snappier on the throttle. With my sig, what would yall recommend???

Assuming you don't work the truck, run it on up to with-in a 1/4" from the head and try it.

If it sounds really weird, or surges on the highway, back it off some. Expect to see a little less boost and a warmer engine coolant temperature (The injection advance puts more heat into the engine to be converted to actual work, and less waste heat out the exhaust. NOTE: That waste heat is what drives the turbine. With more heat to the engine, and less to the turbine, the less boost). ;)

More timing and then put it on a dyno, spend the $75. If you're 350-400 hp then you're right on track.
