dyno method

Postby Cumminsdriver » Tue Jun 23, 2009 9:58 am

Having dyno'd with a manual and an auto w/lockup. I am close to being done with my latest project and would like to dyno it as well. How is it done w/o lockup? Just get it into od and punch it. How do you keep from down shifting? What is the method used?

The one I went on ( they are different kinds ) they wanted it in direct. 1 to 1 not overdrive. Before the event I practiced at what mph it would shift down from drive to 2nd when stomped on. I think my truck was like 43 or 45 mph. I told the guy running the dyno not to punch it under that mph and it did fine.
