BD diesel injection pump

Postby 12vburnout » Sat Jul 11, 2009 3:38 pm

Just wanted to let you guys know, that with the new IP the truck is very healthy. It came setup very conservatively, so I clocked the diaphram and turned in the fuel screw. I also had the valves adjusted.

Truck runs like a champ and I actually gained about 5mph on the top end. Way more passing power on the highway and plenty of smoke when I want it.

It was an expensive lesson, but better that the pump break in my garage and not strand me somewhere.

Maybe W/M next?

Do you know what BD does to the pump?

sorry, no photos yet. Planning a sweet photo shoot with my buddies one of these days. Will post some soon.

BD had the pump set very conservatively. I don't think they do much to this pump, the later pumps for intercooled trucks have a few more tweaks, 3200 spring, etc.

Truck was a dog right out of the shop. No smoke, no pickup, really weak. I turned the screw in all the way, as i had on my old pump, and clocked the diaphragm and it woke up completely.
