I would think you'd encur pretty decent toe changes if the 2wd steering is setup the way I think it is.

You'd have to have the steering linkage pretty parallel at ride height, and since the 4wds sit at least 3" higher than the 2wds I doubt that would happen. With the arma pointed down, it would toe out the tires as the straight axle came vertically up while the draglinks were swinging up in their arc.

I assume the 2wd a-arms follow a somewhat similar arc when they travel?

I was thinking of using the top mount tie rods on top of the kingpins, then they would be pretty much in line.

I think it could be done with a idler, but it's not going to happen on my truck. After looking at it a while, my Meyers pro plow mount won't fit a truck with the box in the 2x4 position without major surgery. I should buy/build a gas engines truck for plowing, but it's not in the cards this winter. Still far too busy fixing storm damage from last spring.

New slave cylinder on the way for the old Dodge, it just needed the X-ring but it blew apart right on the number and we didn't have anything near it in our assortments. I'll write the # of this one down before I install it.

Also grabbed a foot dimmer switch from an early truck, gonna use it to control OD in the 518 I've got rolling around in the back of the RC. Guess I can finally get around to that suspension work. 8)

Foot switches are the stih. Got one running my bumper lights on The Roo Hunter (well when I had bumper lights)

Gonna be a bit longer than I thought, turns out the 518 is 5" longer than the 727. I was gonna bring the rear up a little bit but no way I'm gonna make that up without some driveshaft mods.

We stop working Saturdays in December so I'm gonna wait until then to do any suspension/driveline stuff since I know I'll have a full 2 days to actually work on it.

Picked up a straight, driver's side fender for the RC, the sectioning will probably commence this week. I hope to have it on and measurements marked out by this Sunday.

I also picked up an air compressor this weekend, Cummins/Holset PN: QE296B. I haven't taken any real measurements yet but hopefully it's not so long it puts the PS pump into the motor mount.

I'll be interested in now that air compressor works.

You and me both.

It looks longer than the vacuum pump but I haven't taken any actual measurements. I wouldn't hold your breath on this being a quick job either, this will turn into one of those things where I'll stash it and forget it, then one day I'll stub my toe on it and thrash for the next week to cobble it on.

Is it the same type of compressor used in semis? Because I've had those partially apart before

Yeah, single cylinder though. Here's a random stock photo.

#3558097X, 3rd one down on the list. It may not even fit with the VE for all I know, but I picked it up for $100 so its worth a shot.

Compressor is 10.25", IC'd vacuum pump is 6.75".

Only chance of it fitting is if the PS pump goes above the motor mount as it goes back.

Neat. I've had 2 piston ones apart. The unloader Pistons are rather important.

Got a crossover steering and shackle flip hangers on their way to me, marked out my cut lines on my fenders and now I'm just waiting for it to all arrive.

I don't think in going to lift it any unless I have to, if I can squeeze 37's in there with the front springs arched negative I'm gonna be pretty excited.

In other news, a dude posted a link to a check valve over on CompD good to 600psi or something. I immediately bought one, of course, and have been running it for a couple days now. My bypass setup really sucked. Leaked everywhere, through the butterfly, around the shaft, and even through the actuator diaphragm itself. Now that one giant leak is sealed it idles right at 2.5 and cruises right around 5psi(10psi manifold). Most I've gotten out of it is 10psi on a deceleration when I throw it down a gear and let it really rev. Once I get my tires on the RC I'll pull the Dodge in and start looking to install the 2ndgen IC I've had laying around forever...

9/16" wheel studs, Dorman 610-283, just a hair over 2.5" long

Dorman 610-563, same thing, just 3" long.

Hope this helps ya ;)
