Cooler tubz

Postby TTipswprd » Sat Aug 15, 2009 2:20 pm

What are the gains in this product? (egts, power, boost, ...) Is it worth the money?

Lower EGT's, less restriction, and it looks DAMN good. 8)

The last picture I posted is the stock 1st Gen airhorn (left) versus the Coolertubz. Which one would you rather have? ;)

I believe it was Philip that said a 24 Valve airhorn will get you the same EGT reduction as a set of Coolertubz.

You could always PM TWorline on here. He is the guy who makes and sells Coolertubz, and he'll be happy to answer all your questions. 8)

I have ran a set of cooltubz's and a 24 valve air horn on a dyno. Both made the same numbers. I depends on what you want the engine compartment to look like. Stealth stye with a 24 valve air horn or modded look of the cooltubz's. Eather way gets the job done better than the stock air horn and IC tubes. :D

ha ha well most people could care less about whats under my hood by the way the outside looks. kinda funny the looks i get from drivers when i smoke out an intersection. even from other diesel drivers. guess i just aint got a typical diesel truck out here in Wyoming! does the second gen intake horn use the same size gasket and does it line up like stock?

All cummins air horns and grid heaters take the same gaskets. It doen't matter what the year is.

You would need the left side IC tube made. Tim has the pattern for it. Use the 2nd gen 24 valve air horn. It doesn't have the big wing on it like the 12 valve does.

Do Not use a 3rd gen air horn. It isn't any better than the 1st gen air horn is.

I did a mid section cut-down on a 3rd gen intake horn and a 98 12 valve horn. At the outside 2 bolts where the horn starts to make the 90 degree turn down into the head, the 12 valve horn is over a square inch in volume area larger :D (1.27...er somethin like that).

I should have taken photos.... :;-|:
