What's the truck going to be used for?

That turbo is probably way to big. It would take a long time to spool, and the VE makes all it's power really low, so you'd have a pretty gutless truck.

The VE seems to like 6 hole injectors the best, so a set of 6X.018's would suit you better, in my opinion.

Big. Probably 6x16, and you'd better be thinking of turning some RPM with that kind of turbo....a 4200 spring and valvesprings are a must. Also, you'd need to stick with the 12mm head. 14mm's have a hard time living at that RPM.

And the 66mm is probably a little small to use in the bottom of a set of twins, huh?

hmm - i may beg to differ - my 6 x 18s fueled a pro street 66 at about 1800 rpm with no issues even on the street and my current 71mm pro52 is freakin amazing on 6 x 18's and starts makin boost at about 1600 rpm

I also beg to differ on the rpm necesary as I have run the 3200 rpm spring with both setups and the 4200 spring with both setups including in a stock 12mm pump as well as the built 14mm pump

my silver bullet 66/74/14 does pretty good, not instant boost but not terrible lag either, don't have a tach so i cant tell what rpm it lights at. This is with the fueling I have in my sig. So I would recommend a good lift pump and 6x16s.

Right before I sold my old truck I rand an Aurora 5K and I think they are 71mm. It spooled hard between 1600-1800 and that was with 6x18 and a set of 6x20's. Some 6x18'sould probly be the best bet with a 66mm since the 5k would clear the smoke with them.

Ya I agree that with the right set-up a 66mm is no big deal. Your gonna need some 6-18's and a ported head or cam would really help with the turbo spooling at lower rpm. A 3200rpm spring will be fine, just make sure your fuel system is up to the task of keeping up with big sticks at higher rpm. Also I would strongly consider a properly set-up 14mm pump. I ran a 64/71/14 on my current set-up and it spooled faster then my stock turbo with the truck in stock form. Get it put together and you will have a badass 1st gen!!
