Aurora 3000 rebuild?

Postby IowaCummins » Tue Nov 24, 2009 3:46 pm

hey guys i was just checking out my turbo last night and noticed it had alot of up and down play. barely any in/out play, as much as when it came to me. but today i got done driving and was at idle and was hearing a humming low drone that i could feel in the truck a bit. it feels like it is comming from the turbo if you idle up little by little it goes away. i was thnking its like the shaft is wobbeling and as rpm increases it balences back out. so where can i get a rebuild kit or anythng on this turbo

Clearly the best choice would be to start by calling ATS. From there you have a price and if it is just a standard S300 you can get those almost any where.

i found out that it is acceptable play so im alright. i am just nervous from teh last turbo. only reason i posted up here first is cause i have heard that ats customer service is not the greatest. and in my own findings they have not answered my calls before adn one tiem they did and said the person to talk to was not there so i left my name and number, which i never got a cal back , so thats why. thanks anyways

Wow thats terrible customer service. Not the 1st time Ive read that on the forum either. Maybe advertise less and hire a customer support staff.

i agree with you there. i wish i knew more about turbos back when i blew mine. other wise i would be running a nice lil 62 or modified S300, dont get me wrong this turbo is a great one i love it but its only a 57 and ats turbos are just slow spoolers in my mind. not much you can do to them also. other then a different compressor housing i thnk.
