Home made water injection

Postby Fnschlaud4620 » Mon Apr 23, 2007 12:36 pm

well I found this on ebayhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=019&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=290108558442&rd=1&rd=1

That got me thinking, I have old gm 6.2 and 6.5 starters at home?

I also got an old pressure washer pump, That will go from 200 to 1500 psi.

I have done a little research on tdr and sounds like 4 injectors in the intake and 2 in the charge pipe close to the outlet of the charger @600psi can get the job done!

The only other info I need is What size holes for jets?

I think this way I dont have to mess with an intercooler for the summer, and I can cool some of my air too.

Thanks

Is that a starter motor? I would think that one could work... I've heard of people doing the homemade injections for cheap before, but I don't know what sort of pumps they used.

I think that the nozzle is just a hole. #8 is probably the drill bit size; it says it flows 1.5 quarts in 15 seconds, so I think it's pretty large.

I like the idea of a pressure-washed pump. I think that I've seen el-cheapo electric powerwashers at Harbor Freight for around $140... Or I could find a gas powered one that could fit where my air conditioner once went...

I really need to start researching my home-made water injection set-up too. I'm thinking about getting some chem-lab equipment to plug into my laptop, to read electric throttle position, EGT's and boost, and then have an Excel spreadsheet control an electric powerwasher accordingly.
A smart person could probably get a $2000 CoolingMist system for $400. I just need to find a smart person...

i am usin a walbro inline fuel pump as the water pressure pump, and a 12v startup injector for a VW as the nozzle and the washer bottle as a supply- works very well - total cost about a hundred bucks.
