Thank you Jason and congrats to you for staying diesel (and on being a fellow former V8 luv truck owner ;-) . I wish I was more consciencious about posting my results, folks could save alot of money learning from my mistakes.

I've got 2 events left this season, a pull in my "hometown" and the Fall Brawl dyno event in Dillsburg, PA. I'm starting to leak coolant at the head gasket so I don't know if she'll hold together or not. I'll probably take it out today and shake it down to see how bad it's leaking under stress. I'm looking for info on head porting (got my carbide burs and cartridge rolls) and o-ringing. If the head comes off, it goes back on with O/fire-ringing and some stage of a porting job.

Make sure to do a couple re-torques with the last one hot to get the head gasket to crush with the o-rings. On my truck with the 3rd retorque hot it crushed another five thousandths.

got it all back together, got rid of the t4 adapter with a Steed Speed manifold. Went about 2 feet and the d 70 pinion finally let go. Pulled the axles, un-hooked and tied up the driveshaft, ole girl front wheel drived me safely home again :) Picked up an 80 today. Plan is to have it in for the Fall Brawl dyno event in Dilldburg, PA 23,23 oct.

If it is a posi lock dana 80 go ahead and put a spool or a locker of some kind in it or you will have busted spider gears next. When I twisted off my Dana70 pinion and put a 80 in I turned the spider gears into dust the 1st hard launch. :x

Ew what a bummer. Here I was all excited that I had ended up with a posi. Guess I would have been better with an open then I could've welded it up like my 70.

Have done a bunch of experimenting with timing, turbos, housings, turbines, ect. Have an interesting combo on right now that runs pretty good. H1 t4 22cm non gated housing, super 40 turbine, 8 blade 60 mil compressor. Spools decent with 24* timing, boost maxes at 49psi with 60psi drive pressure.

Copper tubing and a gauge. Yes it WILL clog and give Incorrect readings. Just blow it and the line out with compressed air and test the gage before you need an accurate reading.

Do you have a filter motorwood? The one I saw had a section of 3/4" copper, with capped threaded ends that have threaded holes for the copper tube on one end and the nylon line on the other, filled with steel wool.

No filter, I maybe should, but I dont. Maybe should just put the gage on, take a reading, and then take it off until another change to the truck is made. I think thats what I'm gonna do.

the steel wool trick seems like a winner, I hate taking guages on and off

have run the War Wagon with a super 40, an H1E, and an S366. So, the next logical step?.... put them all on! The manifold turbo is a H1E t4 non waste gated 22cm housing with a super 40 turbine in it. The atmospheric turbo is a 73/66./.88a/r . Respose is very good, 70lbs by 1900rpm. Drive pressure is pretty much neck and neck with boost. EGT's are cool (1350*) max. Just wrung off another input shaft on a loaded up hill test run.
