400hp 1063trq turbos pull great down low but too small on top end.

This has been an interesting journey. I have spent a lot of time and money but have never bested my 455 1080 put down with a super40 on a stock manifold. Granted the gate was pinched and that dyno run was over 2000* on the pyro and ruined bearings and compressor. What we have now cools a maxed out 14mm, makes gobbs of torque, bit just won't HP much past 400. It would sure tow nice though :) I may bump the timing up from 24 to 29 before I dismantle these twins. I have an HX60 that should make a nice partner to either the 40 or s366.

Something weird going on....no way you should be able to keep the EGTs down on a 14mm at 400rwhp. You do a compression test? Might have hurt something.

Keeping EGTs "down" is sort of relative. It maxed around 1700* instead of 2100* and we were only running it up to 2800 rpm. I'm gonna put a gated housing on the h1 and replace the the 366 with an Hx60 this week.

Put the hx60 on over the h1e. Dynoed at only 412 and 9?? Trq. I think the backpressure of the h1 is hurting the top end. Put the s366 back on and it feels great and only makes about 12lbs less boost than either set of twins. Thinking about putting the Hx60 over the s366. Should be interesting. Sure would like to crack that 500 fuel only barrier.

looks like you have a ton of time into chasing 500...

interesting how KTA did 480 on a 12mm head, 62/71, and 6x18's, yet thew 500hp mark has been such a tough nut to crack

Thanks. I didn't mean to give the impression I made the shaft itself. I just did the work to the bearing cover and got the right parts to the right machinist. I've though about putting a couple shaft/cover packages together, just dont know if people will want to pay $12-1300. For Getrag parts.

BTW got the Hx60 over the s366. It feels powerful! Need to do some bracing then maybe a dyno trip. Seat of the pants has been less than accurate for me lately :)

What housing and exh wheel on the 66?

Think i may try compounds if my 5x18's are too much fuel

63/68/.91 over something...

Gonna pull tonight. Hx60 366 twins. Didn't get to dyno. Should be interesting as it feels pretty strong and pulls about 80lbs boost.

Pulled the cam out, gear was working it's way off the cam messing with timing. Putting in a drop in cam and I guess I'll be leaving the VE brother hood :/
