Yes it will fit. You need the two longer bolts to go with it. You would need a new left side IC tube. You could have one bent at a muffler shop. The guy that mkes the cool tubz's also can make you one.

Do not use a intake horn off a 3RD gen. Second gen only.

I have one off a 2000 24 valve.

RUmblefish has a 2ndGen IC and piping, from the turbo elbow to the intake horn on his truck. Maybe you could sweet talk him into taking some pics. I had to cut the big bracket down to clear the 1stGen injector lines.

I've done a 2nd gen onto a 1st Gen, but not for a performance gain.
On the intercooled engines, it's a bolt on deal, not so on the Non-intercooled engines, EVERYTHING has to be modded on those.

From what I have seen, the later 2nd gen intake horn (@ '99+) should, theoretically, flow more, as there isn't the unnecessary dimple on the inside for bolt clearance.
The biggest pain is to get the 1 front injection line to route around the front foot on the intake horn, otherwise, bolt it on.

You''ll need to make a custom pipe from the stock inter cooler, but you can modify the stock intercooler pipe by shortening it, and a few tweaks, then have an exhaust shop swell the end on it to match the inlet's.

You will have to re-engineer an upper dipstick mount, too.

Mark.
