Soooo i was wondering with the c7 turbo as my top what would be a good bottom turbo I have a turbo from a 98 60series detroit thats wastegated with a 5 inch outlet but im not sure about any of the specs on it. Any help is greatly appreciated

Your 60 series might be a k31. It's like a ht3b with a W/G. If that's what it is I would use it. I think citydiesel.com or net has them 0on there site also a guy on ebay has them for sell also.

It's a bit smaller than the Big Brother, but it should spool better. Check the diameter of the compressor wheel on the K31; many twins use a 71mm or 74mm compressor. The K31 is a good bottom turbo IMO.

Most likely the charger from the 60 is a S400 with a 3" compressor wheel and 3.5" exhaust wheel. But then again, there's tons of turbo combinations used on the 60. Can you do some measurements? Any part numbers or serial numbers?

Do you have an intercooler? I would look into that first.

Got any part numbers from your C7 charger?

well my c7 turbo is identical to an s 300 and from what several people have told me it is just like and htt sled puller 66. i got ahold of a friend of mine that works at the local central detroit/allison and he took the cpl of the engine and id'd the big one as a k31 by the way it has a 5 inch outlet with a wastegate. i dont think i will be messin with the intercooler because i already have no2 and water/meth and i dont tow i just use it as a muscle car and import killer and right now my egt never gets over 1100. with the twin setup that i have the turbo for i think could move alot of air, but what can i do to the ve pump to make it keep up? the p pump i have access to is a pdr stoopid pump off my friends toasted motor and from what i hear the r a badass pump but i would like to try and put out some killer numbers with the ve????

i went out and got the numbers off of the c7 turbo p/n 198 8723 s/nc300g071. i have this one as a single right now and it spools almost like my hx35 did but once it hits the boost guage will bounce off 60 and the 33's turn to smoke and thats in 4th so i guess i may have come across a good setup for the budget minded, because i can get the turbos used in good shape around my area for 250 to 300 and for the gain i got out of mine it was well worth it.
