Ya'll see the new fuel screw?

Check it out...

It's a hex head! (And a part number...)

Did the newer trucks have the hex head, or is it something Bosch modified after '93?

Yep somewhere along the lines, maybe when they became intercooled, the fuel screw received a 6mm hex head instead of the stupid slotted head. What did that cost you?

I got it for the low, low price of 20 dollars.

I wish that were some sort of ironic hyperbole, but it isn't. The damn thing literally costs $20.

$15.47 at the place I get Bosch stuff here in Denver. :D I went ahead and ordered one right away, just to see if it's any longer than the one I have now that don't seem to want to go in all the way. Also, so's I'll have a spare if I end up botching the weld job to extend the tip of the original.

I discovered my fuel screw was already almost all the way in when I tried turning it in again to see if I could regain the couple pounds of boost I lost with the new Powerstroke intercooler.

The threads are 8 mm, 1.00 pitch.

I played with the idea of threading a small piece of all-thread in there, and then putting an O-ring or copper washer in between the side of the pump and the nut locking in the all-thread.

I have a hunch that it really wouldn't want to seal without the fancy O-ring-in-the-threads, though.
