The threads are 8 mm, 1.00 pitch.
I played with the idea of threading a small piece of all-thread in there, and then putting an O-ring or copper washer in between the side of the pump and the nut locking in the all-thread.
I have a hunch that it really wouldn't want to seal without the fancy O-ring-in-the-threads, though.
