denny t fuel pin

hello all...just ordered my fuel pin from denny t...should i change the spring or anything else at this time? if so, which one and where from...any input appreciated...merry christmas...

which spring? the 366 (3200rpm) spring or are you talking about the spring that goes around the fuel pin on the starwheel? id crank the starwheel up 4 turns from being bottomed out but all the afc mods are opinion. add a 366 spring too.

while doing the 366 spring youll have the pump top off. at that time you should make idle screw so the slotted end (and the nut) are on the front side of the pump. its almost impossible to do this without the pump top off and the idle is really hard to adjust with the slot and nut on the backside of the pump.

well, got the fuel pin yesterday and the spring today...i have my star wheel turned and the smoke screw bout all the way in...when i install the 366 spring and the denny t fuel pin, where should they be set at, back to stock or leave emm where they are...tnx

id back the smoke screw off until its not touching the fuel pin anymore. people run their starwheels at different places but i run mine tight to try and help turbo spool and keep smoke down. some people run them loose to make smoke with the fuel come on harder. its probably something you should mess with to find the best place for you. ive tried everything from stock, bottomed out, 4 turns up and now im up to the top of the threads. i am no expert but i think 4 turns is a good general area when trying to keep smoke down because on my pump that was as high as i could get it before the fuel cone's travel was affected by coil bind. any higher than that and you dont know whats really happening unless you have your pump top off to mess with the levers as youre doing the adjustments. i took my pump top off and found out how high i could move the spring before my afc fueling was being limited. thats how i found out that aftermarket fuel pins are cut so deep that the pump cant take advantage of the depth.
