IP timing

Postby dunes450r » Wed Jan 05, 2011 11:40 am

so i've heard all the talk about 1/8" timing bump, pump against the head, skipping a tooth, etc. but i'm not sure what this will really do power/torque wise?

what does this do for a mostly stock rig?
modified?
basically will it benefit me in any way to do a timing bump?

Advanced timing will take away some low end grunt and add it to the upper rpm horsepower. It will read lower egt's but that heat is still on the pistons. I like some advanced timing on my auto equipped truck 3/16's is what I have, and stock timing on my standard tranny trucks. I like the low end power in the manual trucks.
