This would explain why after I made my 13.34 pass and sent the pump off to PDR for a rebuild, I lost about a 1/2 second in the quarter 4 years ago. :?

Live and learn, I'm still going to run it. Maybe I could send off to Giles first?

IMO, kta would be the one to send your pump too.

KTA when you did all your testing did these pumps have the solenoid plunger in or out?

I take them out so i don't have to have 12V power and a good ground in order to make them function.

Well today I adjusted the Piers pump and reran it. The fuel was much hotter in the test stand today since it was 30deg warmer in the shop and I wonder if it might have effected the reults a little. Either that or I tweaked it a bit more for top end or maybe this pump has a bit more spring in it Probably just the temp diffrence since results were nearly identical across the board.

Thank you kinda figured so.. I guess it was wishful thinking that maybe the solenoid valve had something to do with the high RPM fuel loss.

Well here is the results from my last testing session. Yeah Yeah I know the 14mm and 4mm cam plate don’t work well together. I just had to try when we got 500cc I thought we were onto something. J KTA was right about what happens when running them. With increased rpm’s they start loosing flow.

The below numbers were done at test stand rpm's X2 for motor rpm's.

It flowed 450cc @ 500rpm's with air.
450cc @ 750rpm's with air.
410cc @ 1000rpm's with air.

Valet was 330cc @500 rpm's without air.

14mm with 4mm cam plate which resulted in seizing the pump.

500cc @ 500 rpm with air
490cc @ 750 rpm with air
360cc @ 1000 rpm with air

I don’t know why we didn’t test them at higher rpm’s, I mean we spent 12 hours at the shop. I guess when we tested all of them in the past we never did. If we would have gained anything down low we would have known from the previous tests.

It looks like you still got some more fuel out of it!!

That's crazy about the 14mm/4mm combo....I think that should put that sucker to rest for good....it would be perfect if you could make peak power at 1,000rpm, but that might be a little hard on the motor :D

In my opinion, its a really big deal to give away this information, so thank you for sharing it.

Maybe I just missed it, but have you or anyone done flow tests on the vane pump? I don't even know what its swept volume is.
