I know I'm getting old, but did they do away with punctuation and capitalization lately? There are a bunch of new threads tonight that don't have much of either, from different posters.
Man that siht is tough to read!

Pete, it's a sign of the bad times, education is lacking, the parents don't (Or didn't) care.
In a lot of cases it is just pure laziness, combined with the idea that texting "R U O K 2 cm C me 2 nit?" is an actual language skill that is marketable. :?
I mean, really, does purposefully NOT spelling correctly save all that much time?

I think punctuation just confuses the poster, since they have to pause and wonder if it's worth knowing how to do it.

Personally, I pride myself for knowing how a sentence should read, as well as how words are actually spelled, though I do like spell check for when I miss-spell a word.
If it tells me I'm wrong, I most definitely will pull my hair out trying to figure it out.

I will admit that I dropped out of High School.
No, it was not the smartest thing I ever did and I can give you all kinds of excuses for having done it, but the long and the short of it is, basically, I was stupid to have done it.

One thing about getting older and maybe wiser, is that I learn a lot quicker from my mistakes at 42, than I did at 16.

Mark.

Mark, I agree, I think it's laziness. And the texting and phones that finish your texts for you aren't helping either. Sometimes I have to respell a word 2 or 3 times and may actually get up and hunt for a dictionary to spell it right, but I try. If I spell something wrong, it's because I have too many fingers typing at once.
Punctuation is usually pretty good, but sometimes I screw something up. ;)

I think it's kids these days.

Education is in sad shape, too. It still bites me in the rear that my eighth grade Algebra I teacher didn't do her job. I got an A, but I didn't learn crap and I still don't know Algebra as well as I should.

While not defending the laziness, sooner of that"language"was from the character limit in text messages bring only 250 characters or less. It its s but innovative of you think about it.

My 3yr old phone limits me to 160 characters (AND spaces). My wife has a "smart phone" and it will send WELL over that, and my phone breaks it up. Doesn't all come in the right order either. More often than not, I'm wondering WTH she's trying to say.

Congrats Jon!
