You won't see that there! Jeremy won't spoil himself with a truck with AC, it's not the "cool" thing to do!

I couldn't put it to work, but I wouldn't complain if I had to look at it every day in my tool shed

I've watched a few episodes, but I've already seen the British Top Gear do everything they do in the American series (while being much more entertaining as well) so I haven't watched much. Adam Carolla, Christoper Titus and Tim Allen would be much better hosts than the guys they have now.

Speaking of "odd custom trucks", I saw a '94 Mexican RamCharger in a Kansas junkyard yesterday.

Plan to go back and capture the complete body, or at least the wheels, tailgate trim, seats console and anything else uniquely Mexican on it.
There was no rot and it was missing the engine, trans and driver's door, but worth buying.
There was a super clean 1977 Trailduster with the gauge package (Tach, volt vacuum) in it for $1500.
He also had a 1981 VW Rabbit that was complete for $500, which I'm also going to go back after, once he gets it dug out.

Sunday night-Monday morning I did an impromptu dash to Arkansas to pick up a 45 foot trailer, then drove to Holdrege, Nebraska to pick up a '94 4wd 5 speed 3/4 ton with an aluminum flatbed for a screaming deal.
On the trip down, I stopped in a scrapper yard in Mena and found a 4bt, for 20 cents/pound, which got loaded.

It was on the way to Holdrege that I stopped in the Kansas yard and bought a nearly complete '94 Cummins core engine.
This place had old Mopars from in the '50s through the '80s that had never had a part taken off them.
One car, a 1965 Coronet, still has decent taillights, a perfect grille and bezals and all of the manual trans stuff still there.

Figured I might toss a couple of pics up of my scores from this trip.

Mark, what does a 94 Mexican Ramcharger look like? Is it the same as a 93? Got any pictures?

I don't have pics, but I can give you a rundown that I observed on this one.

As far as I have been able to discern, the Mexican version was basically the same as ours, other than trim, safety standards and emissions, up until @ 1998, when they switched the the "New" Ram style sheetmetal.

On this 1994 one, the placard on the tailgate is very much like our LE ones, EXCEPT no D-O-D-G-E, it calls the name "Ramcharger" in a font similar to the '96 Dakota Sport stickering. VERY mundane and plain looking, though it still has the red stripe.

Wheels, though they are 1/2 ton aluminum wheels, they are very unique-looking and quite attractive, totally unlike anything on the aftermarket in the U.S.

Steering wheel, it uses the air bag set-up like a '94 Ram and looking at it, this affects the dash harness and some other parts associated, which makes it a one off deal.

Console/seats, while the bucket seats are very much similar to the U.S. version, the console is definitely it's own Mexican design, in that the top is covered in some sort of material and there are cup holders built into it.

ID tagging, the VIN tag is definitely unique, in that it not only calls out the VIN, but it also lists the drivetrain this particular unit was built with, in this case a 518 automatic, a 5.9 engine and a 3.54 axle ratio, ALL on the VIN tag.
Under the hood is the sticker we would look at for the emmissions, except it is in Spanish, pretty interesting that the Mexican version would actually still utilize this tag.
The VIN tag is the same character structure and number of characters as ours in the U.S.

The engine and transmission were already gone in this one, so I couldn't actually look the engine over to see if there were actually any differences in emissions controls, though the ECM was still there and it was mounted in the fender differently, as well as having a part number I wasn't familiar with.

I'm planning on a trip down to Kansas to try to buy it complete, but the yard owner had warned me that they might not want to sell it complete, he needed to see if it was legal. :?
Even if he can't, I'll acquire the Mexican specific stuff and some of the more unique Ramcharger specific parts while I am there.
