Hey! The traction bar mount on the left side is crooked!
Or it looks like it in the last pic.

Andrew, what do you gain by moving the axle the extra inch? Weight transfer?
pete

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

you get less leverage trying to pull the front up, and the hitch will be closer to the axle.

Actually that mount is straight it just looks crooked in the pic.

Pulled today. 1st HIGH 4x4. Got around 3200rpms peak and pulled 233.44'. 2nd or 3rd from last as there were a couple bouncing, jacked up Chevys. Next year is going to have suspension blocks and so go fast mods. The traction bars and AT tires helped the giant jump when the truck stopped but when it was still under full throttle. Actually spun out.

Here is the outside view:

My in-cab view, taken with a Razr Maxx front facing camera. It should be in HD... I am trying to get it uploaded right now with the correct sound...

Well i pulled again on saterday. Got first in 6500lb class and 4th in the 7500lb class.
there was only 3 in the 6500lb class and my buddy had his powerstroke out there and left pieces of his clutch at the line
i smoked mine a little bit in the light class and smoke it a little more in the heavy class :( I think itl be fine but i guess its to be expected, i can still smell it today  in the light class towards the end of the track my steering wheel went from being horizontal(normal) to vertical at the end of the track from the track being pretty grabby i spose :o got beat in the heavy class by some well running 24valves, so i guess i cant complain there, overall a good weekend :D

So my season is finaly done thank GOD.

Heres a little summary of where i placed and what I tore up. THis has been the worst year for carnage I've ever had. This last weekend I had some very extreme carnage on the dyno. I kicked the rear shaft on a 5th gear pull with 110mph wheel speed, I wasn't impressed with the numbers but the curve is beautiful. When the shaft decided to leave it whipped bad and broke the rear extension housing on the 4500 then a piece went through the 5th gears and exploded the case and top cover on the 4500.

So heres how the year went.
1- 1st place
2- 2nd place (technicly 1 was a dq)
2- 3rds
2- 4ths
And some mid pack finishes

Crap I tore up including my dyno carnage.
Spring perches 2 times
spring center pins
traction bar axle mount
traction bar frame mount
1 set of traction bars
3 driveshafts
1 u joint
3 sets of straps
2 d80 yokes
1 rear extension housing
1 nv4500 case
1 nv4500 top cover
5th on the main and countershafts.

Only went to 2 pulls this year that I didn't tear somethng up.

Cost wise it wasn't too bad, I got lots of spare parts. Now I got a lot of tore up busted spare parts.

The tranny will be the most expensive deal, I have some spare cases and most of the part to put one together but I'm gonna do a few upgrades while i'm in there. New updated main, Latest greatest 5th nut, iron extension, new synchros and bearings, yeah it'll be a brand new tranny when I'm done, gonna reseal the t case and do a rear main.

The tranny I tore up doesnt owe me a thing. All I've done to it is change the oil and abuse the sthi out of it for dang near 200,000 miles, this week was the 1st time I've ever opened it up other than pulling pto covers to inspect . Hell it still had the original nut in it. The internals actually look awesome inside it even though I haven't been using the liquid gold the factory calls for. Been using Lucas 75/90 full synthetic.

The thing is Hansen, you have to have traction to break something. Last I saw, you had racing slicks
