All I know is they were NOT designed to be a truck engine, even the 225s are a total POS.
Why on earth they ever made it into anything heavier than an 'A' body is totally beyond me.
I know for a a FACT that if you load a Slant Sick 3/4 ton pick-up with even HALF the weight a Cummins 3/4 ton pick-up can haul, you'll report back with stories of it puking antifreeze and overheating like crazy.
The key to making it move heavy loads (spinning the crap out of it) is it's downfall.
I never could keep one from puking it's antifreeze out, even with GM-Sized aluminum crossflow radiators, totally wasted my time ever messing with that idea.
Sure, they'll spin something like 5 or 6 grand to race them, but they don't care for spinning 3 or 4 grand with a load behind them one bit.
They truly are an engine one can love to hate.
