So i got my new cab thanks to Caleb. I unloaded it out of the truck at work and put it on my trailer. I got it out to the folks now to unload and start working on prepping it.

Does anyone know how to remove the chrome drip rail molding without destroying it? I would like to remove it to sandblast and maybe reuse.

How good of a compressor do you need to run that sand blaster? I'm going to need one soon.

Hmmm looks like I'll be a bum and work on it at the farm like usual. The compressor at the house could not run a DA sander for more than 5 min.

Yeah it wouldn't run this then. I just payed for my wheels and they are being shipped. Question for you guys though. Given the choice would you convert the D71 with 3.07 gears to 5 lug or the 3.55 D70 under it now? Im leaning towards the 3.07 but if it grenades can i install 3.55 gears in that housing.

id keep the 3.07. i wish i would have kept it when i had it. do they make that style wheel to run on 8 lug? it would be alot cooler if they did.

Andy I have same kind of blaster, they take a lot of air to use them. I have a 120gallon 10 horse compressor and that thing will cycle every 4 or 5min using a blaster like that.

Personally, I would sell the 3.07 and get a 9" or 8.25" Ford axle with some upgraded axle shafts.
