FYI, you'll have to pull the fuel filter to install it, and maybe a line too. Good looking unit.
If you want some instructions, let me know. I copied a set from work, I can make a copy or scan it and send it to you. Makes life a lot easier. ;)

Hey guys!

I had a thought,I know....dangerous right

My pump is no where maxed,I only turned it one revolution and thats it.....that was to get my truck to run right with the 7x10 sticks. Now say that with RC's findings of aftermarket injectors flow being poor, let's say that my new flow honed 5x10s actually flow more there for messing with my case pressure. Causing funky idling and screwy timing at low RPMs  . I don't really know what case pressure does at idle,so someone please explain :|

Those injectors aren't any where near big enough to mess with your case pressure. Also at an idle it doesn't really affect it like at wot. case pressure at idle is fairly low, something like 50psi

So your idle is funky? Odd question but you did get all of the coppers out when you took the 7x10s out right?

Yeah. All washers removed and holes cleaned before new injectors were installed.

I think it has to be something like that Eric,if the new injectors made it idle slower than the 7x10,or could be the other way round I guess.

Either way....I'm headed to the shop now to screw with it somemore

Timing is backed off all the way,and was gonna use the fuel screw to bring the idle back up but I can't get it to turn with the 6mm open end wrench  . All I could do is slip on the head,I don't remember it being that tight the last time,so I stopped. Guess I'll try it like this.

Any of yall have issues turning your full fuel screw when there's still an inch of screw left?

Drove it,flippin black smoke still there but tolerable and quite a bit less. Power is there but lacking, haze is 100% gone, weirdo idle is mostly gone. I'm gonna call it good for now,as I'm going to drive it the rest of the week and head to crestview,FL Saturday afternoon to check the mileage.

Larger injectors generally drop your idle, smaller will raise your idle. I've always brought my idle back up with the power screw, but then again my truck is happy not running away on me.

Your screw might be bottomed out. You can't turn them in all the way, there is a shoulder in there that stops it. You've tightened up your starwheel, right?

Yeah,it's topped out.....barely has the spring fingers touching. Should I be concerned about the fuel screw, I don't foresee myself needing more fuel than now. The hotroding of this truck is over, that will now be focused upon the Chevy.

Won't cause any problems being bottomed out. With your set up you should be seeing about 34# of boost? At about 1150-1200 degrees?

Pretty close...I ease up off the throttle about there, fear of HG failure compels me to do so. The egts are really funny tho, highest I've seen is a fuzz over 1k.

Sounds well tuned to me.

A maxed pump w/ a factory i/c injector usually sees 30#.... you being 5lpm over that should put you at 34ish # of boost when considering you have a touch of timing in there as well.

Now you are probalby seeing lower temps than I'm thinking because you have the compressor upgrade.

Kinda sucks that in less than 2 turns my pump is "maxed"

Well, it's not maxed. But, maybe it's still got room to go? It should be able to be turned in about 3 turns from stock, then the factory short screw will bottom out.

Where is your idle screw? On most i/c pumps when the screw is bottomed out, they'll idle with no idle screw.

Could index your throttle arm and then try your fuel screw again, but since you're not looking to hotrod anymore there's not much use. :P

What is your fuel pressure like?

When I added a walbro to an old truck of mine, top end smoke cut down, smoother idle, and pulled better through the rpm range.

Truck under load, hplp w/Mallory reg set at 12psi, will pull down to 10psi
