Went to the track this weekend...

Postby cummins12club » Sun Apr 07, 2013 5:29 pm

Went to a local test and tune night this pass Saturday and got some numbers, ran a best of 14.45 a little disappointed so I guess it's time to jump a tooth on the timing gear and see where that gets me

That's a good time. I had my pump backed off 2 turns, with a massive drive pressure leak when I did my runs. Imclicked off a very hot 14.50. Once I find time to install the air dog I'm hitting the track again. I'd be happy with 13s.

Jump a tooth, get her dialed in again and she'll make you happy ;)

Where was your drive pressure leak at? Mine was at the gasket between the primary and hotpipe. My truck felt faster with just a injector change. But when I jumped the tooth o timing boy did it really wake up on the top end.

Yeah I would guess so!!! Blew a 1.5" section out of the gasket between my secondary and hot pipe. Man was the truck hot!!! Down 10psi as well. Get that fixed pronto and you'll notice a difference. I found a company while searching one day who sells a bunch of different fitting and gaskets. They make double thickness copper gaskets which are cool for sealing up imperfected flanges. I alway let the truck cool overnight and retorque all the fasteners, after the gasket change. Another tip, use the copper high temp(20?? Degree) neversieze on those fasteners.

As for your injectors, there slightly larger than mine. And I'm sure yours will like timing just as mine did. I have yet to hit the dyno again, but I'm hoping for better numbers there, as well as the track.
