24 valve help

Postby skilletky » Thu Apr 18, 2013 10:37 pm

So I got me a 24 valve now, thanks Andy. I love that truck. I am not going to go crazy with it as far as power, but I want to bump it up some. I am going to put an intake, exhaust , small programmer , and maybe a small set of injectors. My question is, what is the best performing brand to use and what should I stay away from? It's an 01 5 speed 2wd. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

a intake is a waste of money .

a 4 inch exhaust , block the waste gate so it makes around 30 psi of boost and a set of 275 hp injectors .

for a programer i would seriously look at the ones blue chip offers .

you are also going to need a fuel pressure gauge and a aftermarket fuel pump ( i've been running a fas for the last 3 years without issues )

your also going to want to add a boost gauge and pyro gauge

LIFT PUMP! number one most important, can't express it enough......hell,it might be more important than a egt gauge
I like the airdodge stuff

I've ran the diabolo sport power puck,it gave me 2mpgs more and some power. Its kinda tame.

Still have it too! Wink wink ;)

Glad you like it Chris. Check out TS performance for a nice box if you don't run the puck. That and a new set of RV275s should be around 350 to the wheels. I had 5 guys call me today on it after going 2 months with no calls.

it always works that way, lol. thanks for the info. will a stock clutch hold that?

Depends how you drive it. That isn't the stock clutch in that truck but I can't tell you if it was a stock replacement or something different. There was a paper in the glovebox showing clutch and trans were rebuilt at 198,000.

so im thinking once i get a lift pump, i am gonna get either a edge comp box, edge juice w/ attitude, or a ts mvp box. ive talked to some people who have owned or own a 24 valve, and they all like the comp box. gonna try and dig up more info or reviews on it.

Didn't Edge close its doors? I remember some outfit that makes programmers closed when the EPA went after them because they couldn't meet emission specs. If you can buy a new box that would be ok, but I'd be leery of buying a used box and having the company gone when you need updates or something.

Quadzilla closed its doors. Chris my other 01 ran just a comp and made 305hp with just that. My bote would go drag comp for the further fueling and stay away from the juice.
