help on trading.

Postby 1990CTD » Tue Jun 11, 2013 8:29 am

Hey guys. I've got a 96 ford f250 4x4 5 speed with the 7.3. It has a flatbed and everything is perfect on it down to the air conditioner. Well I've got it for sale or trade. Got a text this morning and guy has a pretty dang nice 94 Cummins 4x4 auto. Interior ain't the best. I use my 7.3 for a daily driver. Thing is I was wanting to hold out for a 5 speed. What's your opinions on these autos? I'm gonna take a look at it.

The auto in question is a 47RH. If the truck is stock and the owner is responsible, the transmission should be fine. The thing about the 2nd gen 5 speeds is that everyone wants one, so the prices go sky high.

In my opinion, hang onto the Ford. The OBS trucks, especially the 5 speeds, will shortly soar in price if they are rust free.

Quoted and noted. Ellis admitted Fords are superior to Dodges!

Okay. I'm gonna take a look at it but I will probably hold off for a 5 speed. I want to make some power with this truck and I don't think the auto will like it. I was gonna do some mods to the 7.3 but I just don't have 500 for a good chip and 1300 for the cheapest injectors. The 12v I can turn a couple screws and maybe injectors for less than 700. I really like this 7.3 its the most reliable thing I've ever drove but if y'all are like me I have a bad habit of trading.

O wish I had the money and skill to make a fummins. Lol. I found a 1st gen 4x4 5 speed but owner says it needs like a new cc lamp or pin or something on the shifter because you have to "button hook" it out of 5th gear. Not sure about it.
