I got a tach, wouldn't work right, kept adjusting the magnetic pickup until I said fack it and pulled it back a ways...works perfect  I have contemplated removing the lift and go to 285's or the like....but it looks so good with the mild lift  I don't use 5th under moderate to hard acceleration, just when its going down the road 55-60. The thing has a miss at 1700 rpms and gets worse as the rpms go up....so I don't wind it up unless its absolutely necessary....

Update. I put almost 400 miles on The Pile, been using GPS as the speedo/odo is slightly off. Filled it up again and it got 20.9 mpg  Not too shabby for the turd, running like it does. After I get back from my two week Army vacation in WY  the plan is to get the new pump on, run an overhead, get the sticks cleaned and popped, install the clutch, new steering shaft, re-build the rear suspension and get the Kelderman on, finish the interior, paint the inside of the bed, and fix the brakes...again. Planning on running it as much as I can when it's done...

I also don't trust the postal system, since my recent injector pump shipping debacle...it finally showed up...

Update. Got a 184 pump and intercooled lines put on, truck runs out well...but I ran into a few small issues on install. It appears that I need to do something with the intake temp sensor, as the lines contact it. Would switching to an intercooled intake plate solve this? Or, sould I put a plug in the opening, and drill and tap the intake horn or plate for the sensor? Has anyone done something like this?

I don't know for sure, but I'd think if you switched intake plates you'd risk having to rearrange your intercooler piping.

Aren't they the same plate, the IC one is just turned around backwards?

Caleb, I was expecting that would happen...

Taco, I wish it was, but on the rear of the IC plate there is a boss for the air intake temp sensor...

Jon, Thanks!

Well, it's been a while, but progress is being made. Today, I FINALLY got my South Bend clutch in, thoroughly impressed. Works well and grabs like it should. For it done just in time to run to the Post Office and pick up some packages...one was from RC, my 370's have arrived! Tomorrow, I am swapping injectors and injection pumps, I got a N.O.S. 205 pump, time to put it on.

My intake temp sensor screwed into the intake shelf, I assume all Cummins heads have this boss. If there's not an interference problem with the injector lines I don't see a problem running it like that.

Unfortunately there is some interference, one of the lines hits it pretty good, I've tweaked it a bit in an effort to clear it, but it still hits...
