Lol. No stacks.

The clutch pedal bolts straight to the firewall with minor surgery on the brake pedal. The shifter is cable operated, so we can position is wherever we want - if the cables reach. The plan is to build a shifter tower to house the shifter and cables.

we got one mount in and some misc stuff today.

No picture yet, but axles are done. Most of the rest of electrical, inter cooler plumbing, rad hose etc are now underway.

Pedals are done too. The angles look a bit funny in the pic, but line up pretty close.

It Runs!!! Drove it up and down the road a couple times today. Mechanically its running great - we still have some electrical crap to track down for gauges and such, but its real close now. Its a bit doggy as expected, but it'll work until we have the funds to replace the worn injectors and stuck actuator on the turbo...we'll up the power a touch then.

still trying to figure out how I can make it to sop. :( I filled it up for the first time last night on the way home with it holds near 25 gallons. At that rate i'll have a range of nearly 1000 miles.

I have yet to post in this thread........but I did subscribe to it and have been watching it.

Awesome on the fuel economy, it makes it all worth while.

The funny thing is, I have been watching for peoples reactions and I have to say NOBODY (except for one guy when I pulled up to the diesel pump) notices anything around them. Are people self absorbed or what?

Question about air/water intercoolers: sq in to sq in, are water/air intercoolers as effective as air/air intercoolers? And what would be the pros/cons of looping it into my cooling system or should it have its own radiator? Namely i'm having a hard time fitting an air/air intercooler in the van and am looking at an air/water intercooler that would fit perfect and would reduce the amount of piping considerably.

First off really cool swap. Always nice to see fords losing ford parts in favor of non ford parts, and the fuel economy thing sounds phenomenal. I'm going water to air in both my 93 and my 80. I'm going to go through frozenboost.com they have a nice selection and have complete kits to put them in minus piping. Benefits of them include very low pressures drops from end to end, greater efficiency, and the potential for greater cooling. I wouldn't run it through my existing cooling system though just as I wouldn't want to risk overtaxing that system, and the pumps supplied flow a lot of water

Thanks. We just did a second tank of about 500 miles at 34 mpg - over half this tank had another driver though, if you know what I mean. Still not to bad.

I found an air/water cooler on fleabay that should work for the space i've got. Were going to run it through the existing cooling system because the Ford radiator is quite a bit bigger than the jettas. And right now at an ambient air temp of 85 degrees, it takes the van 6-7 miles to reach full temp. We are hoping that stripping the heat from the turbo will help improve cold warm up times. If it becomes a problem, I'll loop it through a separate system later.
