Me too man. I refuse to work on stuff for people because I don't have time. I don't want to start something and not finish it.
I drop my projects to help my buddy, but he does the same for me, so it works out.

Having done it, I'll never pay someone to paint a truck/car/tractor for me. Ever. Family rate or not, it's not even worth the time waiting.

Save a junk door, fender, hood, or bed and figure out mixes, motion techniques, pressures, patterns, and tip settings. I found that reading up and doing it by the book only goes so far. Some stuff has to be learned first hand, at least for me.

I wish you luck :thumleft:

No I'm not, I sent my "stand in" from Ohio.
Caleb, I was only busting, as I'm sure you know. I started out the same way, practice may not make it perfect, but it sure helps a lot!
I painted a Duster once in my buddys shop, it was about 60* in there and I was using Rustoleum. The paint was running off it like water. I used the tape trick to pull off the runs, cranked the heat up until it was about 80, and blew the paint on again. Note to self, shoot Rustoleum at high temp, it came out great.
