I've done so much searching and reading about lift pumps, I'm even more indecisive than when I started. I have determined I want a good old fashion mechanical piston style pump. But not sure which way to go. As far as my MOD list goes its pretty basic right now. 4" DE exhaust and a DennyT Stage 2 pin and 2 turns on the AFC star wheel. Not really looking to do much else until gauges are installed. My plans for the truck is nothing more than to drive it on the weekends and tow an occasional car trailer, BUT I do live in the mountains so EGT's are something I want to keep low (hence my desire to keep the 18cm^2 housing).
I've always lived by the saying "It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it." Basically at any time my plans could change and right now I'm leaning towards a 2nd gen piston style high pressure pump with a regulator. Who has this setup and what regulator are you using? Seems like I really should only do this if I plan to P-pump it down the road.
Or should I stick with the low pressure version and make sure I get the pump from Cummins and not Delphi (or whoever makes it). Also, I could never get a clear idea of what people saying when they mention "agri" pumps. Are they the same as the low pressure pump or something else all together?
