problem logging in? check here

Postby swank » Sun Feb 10, 2008 12:22 pm

just a place for discussion of site login issues.

if you are having trouble logging in, you might have to get rid of this sites cookie. *I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DO THAT WITH INTERNET EXPLORER*. if somebody DOES know how to do that, please explain.

you might also have to empty your cache. something else i don't know how to do in windows. so once again, if you know how, please explain.

Correct me if I'm wrong, if you check the "remember me" box, as long as you are on the same 'puter, you shouldn't have to log in. Right?
I log in thru "messages", click the "remember me" box, then I can get on 1 more time without logging in again. If I log in other than messages, it loses my "new posts". Then I have to search forums for them.

I'll try clearing cookies, good job for the wife. ;)

yes, that is the way it's supposed to work. some people were saying they have had problems with that though. one thing that was mentioned was that if you are using AOL, download and start using firefox.

Cookies

Right-Click on the START button, select <explore>

In the window that opens you'll see your folders under your name or login name on the left side. The first one called cookies, holds - you guessed it - cookies!

Click on that, then look down through the files on the right until you find the one you are interested in. Whack, as necessary.

Well it just took me 20 minutes to get logged in today. I had the "keep me logged in" box checked for the last 2 month. It said on my initial logon attempt that I had exceeded my maximum logon attempts. Somebody trying to hack my login? Then it gives me a recpcha block that almost turned me blind trying to figure out what numbers and letter were in it. It also said that my member name and email address didn't match so I gotta check that. What a fiasco....
