front suspension on 2wd race truck

Postby blacksheep » Sat Mar 08, 2014 7:38 pm

i am building a 91 into a race truck. there is a good chance the front will be coming off the ground. will the fresh rebuilt front end handle the front hitting when it comes down? or is there upgrades i can do?

Is it a D250 or a D150 truck? I know the Cummins express will pull the tires a little but nothing crazy and I don't believe he has had issues.

Probably gonna have to learn to ride it out and set it down softly. That's a lot of weight to have slapping down on anything but railroad iron :)

Not to rain on your parade but lifting the front tires with a 1k lbs plus engine will probably take more than 6-800 hp. It's actually quite rare in diesel powered trucks, I can think of only a few people that have done/do this and they aren't even the really fast ones.

If your going to run a 4 link. Just set it up properly so it doesn't lift the front end off the ground. Set it to just skim the front tires.
