Alcan may or may not be a better spring.
But, when I got off the phone with Alcan.... I had that same feeling that I get when I used to get off the phone with so many diesel performance shops. And that went like this "I don't know why you would even waste your time with a ve. If you want a real Cummins or make any sort of power at all, you'll get something else".
Alcan pretty much (and mind you, it may have been that particular salesman on that day) said that "you have a 1st gen Cummins truck, and you are claiming a lot of hp/tq with it. You are never going to have a nice riding truck, because if you do, you will twist your axles out of it. You need to stick with a rougher spring in order to keep things where they belong. So let me sell you a $1500 lift kit that will ride not much better than what you have now."
I wasn't very happy when I got off the phone.... that's all. However, like I mentioned already.... I don't know if Atlas, or 'Alcan is better... OR if there is even a comparable difference.
I may not be impressed when I put them on... and I may be like "holy cow, what have I been missing".
Which is why I started this thread... I've been around my fair share of 1st gen springs... but no aftermarket springs.
