I torque smaller bolts or bolts going into aluminium. Sometw I underestimate my own strength.

You torqued the bolts? With a torque wrench and everything? Wow. I mean, just wow.

I torque all the bolts. That's just the way I am.

I figure it's a fastener that's selected by it's intended load. Just as well pull it up for its worth. The vast majority of those I removed during this adventure, were still quite tight (been there over a year ago +/-).


I'm thinking of going to the beach this coming weekend. That will tell me how these new injectors are doing, with my current timing-tune, with a known highway driving trip. I'm thinking they're gonna kinda blow.

Anything above 1800 or so engine RPM has things fairly clean. That's assuming an empty truck, with the turbo giving perhaps 10 ~ 15 psig of boost. Light throttle stuff.

Accelerating from a stop-light is a challenge keeping things clean.

It's the nature of the beast.

I'm still sorting the timing thing. Any full throttle stuff above 2000 RPM is very clean. Light-grey stuff (lots of it of course).

Pretty-much all weekend. Seeing as you've a 2wd, it should be a lot quicker. But you've still got to pull the trans . . . . .

If you have a buddy help it could be done on a Saturday pretty easily. My brother and I swapped my converter in about six hours total.

I had my cousins 98 2wd trans out in 3 hours working by myself. so you should be able to get it done on a weekend I'd think as long as the bolts come out alright.

I'll be using a 3/8" Milwaukee Fuel impact to help.

3 hours? It only takes me about an hour and a 1/2!
But then I've had mine out 6 times in the last 3 years and most of the bolts are missing and the rest are replaced with Velcro.
