I'm not surprised. I was looking for one a month ago and the used prices on e-bay snap-on or mac are right up there still. And then you don't know what you are getting used. I had a few HF ones, they are barely better than junk, so the next one will be some kind of a name brand one.

The best one I've used was a snapon but I checked their website and it was over 300 bucks

I don't buy that.....I've a matco hammer (only thing I've ever bought from them that was worth a damn) and guess what......Ingersoll made it,it's a beast. It's also heavy duty, and every bit of 12" long. It packs a punch. I also have a shorter snapon brand,it's good for tight areas but won't push out balljoints like the matco will. I'll shed a tear if it ever goes down.

Eric do you know the beats per second it was,and what kind of psi, volume of air did you have. Those things make a world of difference.

I have a two snapon 250's and one 350. I did have the best Matco one. Wouldn't hold its own to my 250. It hit hard but seemed like half the stokes per minute.

Eric if you pay the shipping both ways I can rent you one for how ever long you need it. Tell me exacly what you are doing and I can send you the bits that I think will work for the job.

3,000 bpm, 150 psi, ?volume? whatever my 55 gallon damer puts out.

It did the job, but took some doing on my half.... and def did no where near what I was told it would do.

A quick torch job will help out tremendously, just alittle smelly.

When i was a HD mechanic we tried all kinds of different things to get rubber bushings out and we had all the tools. We still went back to the torch everytime. I use the torch in my home garage aswell, just have the door open or do it outside if you can.

Also, for installing any rubber bushing, dish soap. Again, we tried everything we could get our hands on and nothing did the job like dish soap.

Now you can get a really good one for next time.

Some dish soaps work better than others though. Sunlight works alright. I think ivory is good

I used the torch and cut the spring eye, and got the spring out of the way, then cut the bushing enough to get at the bolt and burned that out. I wasn't saving the springs though, they were whipped!
