Off to the dyno

Postby VanillaGorilla » Mon May 05, 2014 3:30 pm

Curious on what you guys think I might make. 93 W250, built trans and a lower stall converter, Non IC pump that's basically maxed and has been ported out, 3200 spring, timing bumped, Denny T stage 2 pin, BD super B turbo, BD 40hp injectors, 60# springs, 4" exhaust, Holley 110gph lift pump and -8 fuel lines. The only thing that may change is a 3800 spring. What are your thoughts? I am hoping to see 400hp but really not sure, thanks
93 Reg cab LE 4x4 518AT, 145k and counting, pump turned up,Internal pump mods, Denny T stage 2, non IC DV's, timing bumped up, BD 40hp injectors,BHAF and me-built mandrel bent CAI,4" turbo back, Holley lift pump, new white with gold paint job, recieving more mods to tow the Duster and push this stupid WI snow.

Thanks. Like I said hoping to be around 400 but I kind of think the injectors are holding it back. I'm open to suggestions fellas, truck also tows so max power isn't the main concern

In all seriousness, and from what I've seen in the forum reading I've done,I bet it's either what I guessed or a little lower. Like you said,it'll be all about the injector size.
Again tho I have no real world experience

Super B are great turbos, but they don't normally peak the dyno very high. Without knowing the size of your injectors.... (though I think I know approx. what size they are) it is actually your turbo that is probably holding you back.

An he51cw has on multiple occasions peaked 400+, but barely. A super b flows roughly 60-61#/min, where as an he351cw flows 68#/min. The super b is a far superior towing turbo though.

I can't argue facts, towing is the main concern so until I have another truck for working this thing will make what it makes haha. Can I ask what size you think these injectors are?? I bought them used on here when my stock ones went, I couldn't find any good info on them. Thanks, can I ask opinions on a set of 5x12's? From my reading they seem like a good addition to the truck

I THINK the +40s are around a 50lpm size (just shy of a 5x12)

So if this is correct a 5x12 may not be a great upgrade?

My main problem with these is the ridiculous haze at idle

If they are a 4 hole injector, they are the wrong spray angle.... why wouldn't you think a 5x12 would be a good upgrade? Are you looking for a lot more fuel, or just a little?
