I was pondering this the other night, Daniel.
Do governor return springs get worn like every other spring sfter 20-25 years of use?

Could new ones help the runaway tendencies some pumps have? Worth a shot to try out.

I actually have a 366 spring in it Dan. I think it's set pretty well where it should be. I'm thinking about just going with an afc delete this fall and then re-indexing it right when I do that.

Why would you delete the AFC? If you NEED to do something of that nature, its $free.99 to gut it, compared to spending money on one of those delete tops. Gain the same thing in the long run, a smokey mess that you can't tune out...but hey, its your truck ;)

But Ike, it's so shiny. :(

Plus all the cool kids are doing it. You wouldn't understand because you're old.

So, strip the paint off your pump and it'll look shiny too ;)

Damn skippy I'm old, and proud of it! I think the kids that call themselves cool are mistaken, the proper name for them is TOOL(S).

Bill, you saying I'm a dbag facehole expert? Or that total mess on that page? That page should be canned, seems like only 5% of the knuckleheads on there use any forum for help or advice.

I agree. I've recently joined "1972-1993 Dodge trucks" and "1st gen dodge diesels".. mostly to buy and sell lol.. I knew you two, and others in here were on those various FB pages. I'm talking about the other 95% of the dbags! lol

Most are just kids with "first gen boners". Little do they know anything about these trucks, being 20+ years old and many needing a lot of maintenance. Then they want a bazillion horse power and 2nd/3rd gen tow mirrors while spray painting nice OEM grilles

Rant over

Daniel, not the governor rpm spring, but the 2 little springs that move the gov assembly back to idle when you let up on the pedal. They go into the top of the H&R, above the plunger
