Well.... bought a core short block the other day. Needed a head anyways, and my builder has all of the 24 valve head stuff :mrgreen:

My new engine, after its rebuild will be a 24 valve. We'll do all of the normal head work (port/polish, valve job, etc..). It'll get a cam, and springs.

SO pistons with decked block to get compression up....

It's gonna be sexy.

Cam will be a 188/220.... and what do you mean by CR?

edit - oh, compressin ratio? I'd like to get upwards of around 19 maybe 19.5 to 1

What about injectors to work with the 24v head? Who makes something like that? And why so high on the CR? Anyways, be sure to post lots of pitchers of the build.

Simply use 24 valve injectors set at ve pop pressures. I'll be using the 6x13 vp injectors and then we'll hone them to 80lpm.

The dirty/laziness that comes with high hp ve trucks is because of low injection pressures. The lower the injection pressure the higher the cylinder pressures needed to burn the fuel....hence why we need so much air for the hp we make.

Raising the compression is literally almost the same as having more boost. It'll burn a lot cleaner, need less timing, make more power with less air.... spool the turbo(s) faster.... be way more responsive down low.

You aren't the only one. I would like to do something like that, but I will probably never have the opportunity to build one. Need a proper garage to build stuff out of the elements.

My dad has a pretty nice shop. There's a boring bar, surfacer, crank grinder, a machine to do valves, a decent lift, and enough room for a semi if it's stacks and sleeper aren't too tall (one of those once went into the front wall, but I can't remember the details right now)
