Some of the early nonIC 1stGens had true west coast style mirrors. Put a 5-8" spot on each side, and you have no blind spots for 2 lanes on either side, for the length of a 40ft trailer. BTDT.
I havent had too much trouble with semis with plenty of spot mirrors. I like one on the right fender, as well as my 2- 8" on the doors, along with the regular 6x14s or whatever.
My 92 had power mirrors when I got it. I traded straight across to a TDR member in KS for the mirrors like Tank has (could NOT see around the flatbed). I like them on my dually, but think they are too much on a SRW that doesnt tow a lot. They were an option on either vintage- there are a few 250s aroudn here with the towing mirrors.
Don- she as fast as her pickup? (sorry, had to ask, it was on everyone's minds).
