I'm still confused on how a slipping clutch is fixed by a 12v swap

Andy, that's good info. Thanks.

Ohh.. Pretty sure late 99 and up have powdered metal rods. I just bought my 3rd push broom handle from napa with the powdered metal thread end pressed onto a wood handle. First two didn't finish sweeping my work truck out once and the powdered metal broke, 3rd one managed to sweep the truck three times. I should try and find a all wood handle.

To set the record straight, at one point in time International went back to forged rods to use up old stock. It's all speculation unless you see for yourself.

Just in case anyone cares

I think the solution is worry about it when it slips under normal conditions.

My solution when my clutch started slipping was start easing into the throttle so the torque came on later. If I get it running I'll have to put in a new clutch at some point though. Especially if I want to add more power

Best thing to do in situations like this is find a few companies online that make clutches. Call them all up and the one that makes you feel the best about their product gets the money. Also, factor in price, warranty, and what your friends think about your choice. :D

Contrary to popular belief, facebook techs are the best at recommending you things.

That'll happen Monday. I tend to buy parts and let them sit on the shelf for a while.

Because they know how I use my truck, what kind of power it makes, and they know the product better than the manufacturer.

Yeah man!
I 2nd the "call around and talk to people". If they try to push you into something they aren't the ones to deal with. The ones that listen and try to recommend something practical are the ones to deal with.

Andy, Valair had some teething issues when they 1st came out, now they are almost as good as South Bend. South Bend has un paralleled customer service, I have seen it many times on the boards, if you have a problem, Peter takes care of it. I bought a Valair for my truck simply because I didn't have the money for a SB. If I had the money, I would have gone SB.
