What the heck happened to the tire market?

That's cheaper then they are around here. The tire industry shot prices up just like everyone else.

It's not like 18.4-38s that are like $2000 a piece, but still. $1000 for tires is insane.

Tires are ridiculous. I put it off as long as I could. Last Wednesdays crappy slushy storm finally did it for me, after the 3rd close call with my more than worn previous tires. I found some off brand E-rated mt's on ebay for $660 shipped to my door. I googled them and they had decent reviews. Trigger pulled.

I got mine for 600, but they're take offs from a half ton, so they're rated at a whopping 2535 pounds. Max pressure is 44psi, and somebody put 50 pounds in them, and they still balloon on the bottom (even the backs are squished some). That's what I get for buying engine parts rather than tires. They've been decent for traction though. Haven't lost control anywhere

I wish I could get used tires for a grand.....

It really sucks how expensive tires have gotten... due to oil prices.

That's half the problem...BFG's. Why make a tire that has only 3/4's tread depth compared to every other tire out there, and charge MORE. I understand that the A/Ts perform decent in the snow, but when it comes to tread depth and compound, they fall short.

Everyone recommended the BFG to me, even those not trying to sell them to me. Hmmm. The Mastercrafts that dad has had good luck with for 10+ years are back ordered for 2 months.

Anyone know what kind of life they get from a BFG? Two friends have had them on their S10s for about 5 years and I'd guess every bit of 35,000 miles. That could be an apples to oranges comparison though.

Lots of guys run madtercrafts around here due to Zurchers/Best one headquarters in the middle of nowhere monroe. Ive seen alot of axt and more recently the mxt around. I had a set of courser otd on my old ramcharger and they wore like iron. I wish they still made them. Nobody really seems to have anything bad to say about any of the mastercrafts locally.

19.5's aren't cheap either. It ends up being about 6 grand a set for our service trucks

Now a question came up in class that I need some confirmation on. Does the ksb advance timing on cold start up then back it off when it warms up or the other way?

ksb advanced timing when activated. So advances when cold.

6 tires I'm guessing at little cheaper than retail. Michelins and bridgestones

Thanks Eric. It's what I figured. Just wanted to prove the book wrong
