Even with the stop cut out of the pump top you'll never come off the ramp of the m&h pin. I have come close to cutting a spacer out of some aluminum to go between the top and body....like m&h sells.

Last year this same truck screwed me after hauling cows by belching white smoke and running off 3cylinders,for no reason other than valve stem seals. Oil + white smoke = stem seals....that didn't compute either,but it happened.
