We are thinking about getting a Jetta again as a second vehicle and moving the truck to status of "only for things to big for the van or car". Anybody ever deal with Speedway Motors in Fort Wayne? He's got a lot of Jetta tdi's.

Their trucks generally seem a bit on the high side. A friend bought a d350 once and said he had to wait on the title because speedway tried to do too many dealer reassignments without filing for a new title or something. Id just keep a close eye on the paperwork.

I don't know about his cars. Most if not all of his trucks are out of state. He normaly tries to get rust free. Most are high mileage. He doesn't dicker much at all. Me and Jeremy looked at a 2002 CTD he had one time. It was out of TX. It was high mileage. The front end was loose as all get out. He didn't want to do any dealing even with it needing $1,000 in front end work.

Does anyone know where I can find a manual to rebuild a NV4500?

I talked to him on the phone this week. At least on the phone he acted like he'd negotiate on price some and his listed prices and mileage are about the norm, but the biggest downside is no guarantee on timing belts so that pretty much means it'd have to be done right away.

There is a good write up on CF, in the 2nd gen section. I used it when I did the NV for The Pile...its still going good.

So I had my iPhone 5c out to clean the case. Forgot it was on my lap when I stood up. Landed screen side down on the carpet and shattered the glass. I don't have the money this week to replace the phone ($150 through Verizon) or the screen ($110-$150 depending on the store). So I reactivated my old Droid RAZR Maxx. Its 2+ years old, withstood a toddler for the last year I've had my iPhone, and was case less for 1 year before that. I broke the first one early with tools in my back pocket and sitting down. So much for the Otter box case it was in. Anyways, I reset to factory settings, installed a root app, reactivated it, and uninstalled a bunch of factory apps. Works flawlessly, fast, and I missed it. No more iPhone for me again.

FSM for a '93 has it in it. It's probably for a gasser NV4500, but why wouldn't it be the same?

I think the only difference between the gas and diesel versions of the 4500 is the size of the input shaft. Ought to be the same clearances and such. Looking at an older vw diesel w/stick local guy has, hes asking about 2k for it, I think its a jetta but im not sure.

Rusted out piles go for $7500 around here if they run. Over $10,000 for ones in decent shape. I could probably get $12,000 for mine.

7500 is pretty fair for a seller around here. Cheap bastards around here wanna give nothing and expect mint condition. I seriously thinking about it. Esp since theres a decent looking d350 getrag i kinda wanna look at.

You got to get $8000. You just put new tires on it

I sold my mud tires yesterday. It panned out to pretty much buy one all terrain and get 3 free.
