WTF is goin on now????

Postby ford69557ci » Sun Feb 24, 2008 12:50 am

So yesterday i was drivin down a farm road in 5th runnin about 55. I let of the throttle to slow down for a turn and when I got back on it the engine started missing. So I drove a little farther and it started missing really bad and is now blowing compression out the turbo. I just put a head gasket on this truck and it is stock besides an hx35 and it was runnin great till this. I had a machine shop check the head out before I put it back on and they said it might as well been a new one they said the valves and guides were in great shape. I pulled the valve covers and found no broken springs and all the rockers are adjusted to spec. I even though maybe somehow one bent so i cheacked all of the spring heights and they were all of the same>>>Any ideas???

You have checked the obvious stuff, sounds like a headgasket blown between 2 cylinders to me.

Just JB weld a VE AFC solenoid and an old distributer cap onto a P-pump and say you had the first VE to break the 800 HP mark.

Or you could install one p-pumped motor to get up and running for awhile and sell the other two motors for cash for the VE motors. Just giving you a bad time, good luck with the P motor. So, now all of our hopes of someone presenting enough of a threat to KTA's throne to bring Old Yellow out of mothballs lie with Cummins King.

Ford, I'm just giving you a bad time. I'm like the little kid on the playground talking smack to both sides in hopes of seeing a good fight. I have neither the resources or the space to do what you and Cummins King are doing. I wish I could, but I can't (at this time :D ). So I do a little stick poking every now and then to see where things go. Good luck and hope you can get back into the race soon.
