I got a new W250 and I'd like to pull with this one so I'm trying to read all I can on the trucks like this that did it damn well.

It's been quietly collecting dust, unfortunately. I paid off all my debt and started to build a shop which I badly needed. I plan on firing it up again in the future. I had a ton of custom machine work done to a new motor but laid off after PPL 2.6 rolled in. Not sure what incarnation it will come back as next. It will be an extended cab and will obviously be P7100 equipped... I might sell the truck and just buy another truck to carve on, so I can engineer out as many of the first gens disadvantages as possible.

Wish I could hit the lottery, put together an old Diamond Reo with a moving van trailer fitted with a living quarters and go see this country pulling a first gen.

Life happens, sounds like you are going to come out the other end better off.

I'm on the fence about a ve pump and a 62mm upgrade or just going straight to the P7100 and a 66, it's basically just a toy I'll street drive and pull with

If it's a toy why not just go p pump and a 467. There's enough people that've said a 467 has spooled faster than a 366 for me to believe it. That clipped 80/74 turbine wheel on the s300's has a poor reputation. The new sx-e 80/74 wheel on the other hand is apparently doing better. Though if you were to go with one of the sx-e s300's the 369 would be a nicer choice. It's compressor does flow about the same as the 467 though (about 98lb/min) there's also some new s400sx-e's coming out that'll be interesting. There's a new 472fmw that'll flow more than the current 476, and a new 476 as well, also a new 10 blade 488 that'd be an interesting single on a 6.7 (though iirc the 88mm wheel hits the limit of the compressor covers flow potential)

Well, plans changed.... ended up with a used 64mm and thinking about an s480 in front of it. My buddy wants to buy it and I'm so busy with my duster that he'll most likely end up with it and I'll just lend a hand and ideas.

My experience is a 476 hits really close to as hard as a 480, but with much nicer street manners. Box s480's are also 8 blade compressors which add mass (little bit broader map in theory, but that extra mass is quite noticeable. On my 6.7 as a single the 80 spools around 21-2200 while the 76 spools right around 1800) now I just need to try a 6 blade 478. That compressor weighs less than a 7 blade 475, so should spool like ridiculously fast for how big it is
