My machining instructor has an 04 cummins, 48re, 4wd, bare bones, bone stock work truck. He really would like better mpg, and a little extra power wouldn't be rejected. The thing that surprised me is he averages 15 or so mpg, and only 16 - 17ish highway. Cruises 2000 @ 70, so I guess that'd be 3.42 rear? The highway part doesn't surprise me because he cruises 70 w/ the he341. And I do realize the slushbox takes a little as well.
Anyway, I suggested straight exh (no dpf on early CR right?) and mild intake to start with. Anyone recommend a reasonably priced tune for a stock DD truck?
