I am about to try to wire my external regulator(dodge) onto the dodge alternator on the cummins. (Fummins )
The schematic shows a ground wire and a "output" wire going to battery (containing a fuseable link at some point in the run)
On the alternator I see 2 fat cables and a small blue and green. One of the fat ones has a ring eye and the other had a
plastic plug-together device. I am guessing that the ring eye one is ground and the plug-in one goes to the battery.
Does this sound correct ???? ( I got a plug with the regulator that has a blue and green- so that explains those two ----)
also- the regulator appears that there should be a spring steel retention device which locks the plug into the regulator via.
the 2 ear tabs on regulator........ does the dodge use something like this to keep the plug from working off ??????
Thanks--- tim
