Couple years ago I melted the trans in my plow truck, and had to dig out my dually. Been sitting all winter, it was -5* that night, and too far away from a building to plug it in. Cycled the grids once, and it lit like any other day. It was grumbling for 10-15 min till it warmed up.
Since I bought a house, its had some cold starts since there's not always an outlet close. The other morning we had -24* and even after 3hrs plugged in, she was cranky. Had a pretty good lope, really rich exhaust, but she ran good once warmed up, hauled 2tons of pellets just fine.
